New Business: S-D Family Reserve Beef

Who doesn’t love to shop local? While we appreciate our grocery store, drug store, and lumber yard, what about local beef? 
We see cows everywhere in Hamilton County. There are feedyards, dairies, cow/calf producers, but looking to buy specialty steaks locally? That’s hard to come by. 
S-D Family Reserve Beef has come up with a solution. A high quality solution that offers local families the opportunity to buy local. 
Syracuse Dairy veterinarian Tera Bernhardt said, “What sets us apart from other local beef you can purchase, is that our family has been doing this for decades. We are able to offer a high quality product because we can focus on genetic improvement on a large scale. And we are so happy to be able to share it with this community.”
Miguel Gonzalez runs the inventory management and now sells S-D Family Reserve Beef from the shop there. The coolers are filled with T-Bones, Ribeyes, and much more. 
Since opening in early February, the response has been wonderful. Gonzalez reported, “We have people returning for more. We get comments like, ‘Good cuts, flavorful, and great quality.’”
 A couple of weeks ago they doubled their inventory with even more different cuts and a larger selection.
While you can purchase a few cuts of their meat at the Liquor Shack or Main Street Liquor in Johnson, S-D Family Reserve Beef on west Highway 50 is the place to find a full selection. They are open from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. But they are open to calls or texts after hours if that meets your needs. Don’t see the cut of meat you would like? Ask.
Natasha TeVelde said, “We are grateful  for the support from the community. A bit of sales every day and we really appreciate it.”
Bernhardt added, “Things are moving right along! We wanted to partner with the Liquor Shack because they’ve been a long time business in Syracuse and it allows customers to purchase our beef during hours we are not open. The synergies that exist between two local and small businesses will benefit the customer in the end!”
Considering a gift for a family member or friend? They can ship anywhere in the US because they have beef from a federally inspected facility. The federally inspected beef allows them to cross state lines with their product because that is how meat sales are regulated. What could be better than delicious, local beef raised right here?
Some of their most recent beef taken in would have qualified for the Prime quality grade on the USDA carcass grading scale. Prime is the highest quality.
