Mona Rae (Alexander) Trussell, age 82, passed away at the Kearny County Hospital in Lakin, Kansas on Monday, January 27, 2020. She was born on September 17, 1937 in Syracuse, Kansas, the daughter of Roy Elmer Alexander and Jewell Wilma (Rogers) Alexander.
She attended Kendall High School in Kendall, Kansas and graduated in 1955. In May of 1958, she married Ronald V. Trussell. They moved a number of times due to Ronald being a Park Ranger living in the Yosemite Tetons Zion and Bryce Canyon National Park. While living in in the Bryce Canyon National Park he died in a plane crash. Mona ultimately moved and relocated to Kendall, Kansas where she began farming for Joe Lemons and worked during harvest at the Coop in Kendall. Mona also drove the Kendall School bus until the school closed and then she began driving school bus for Lakin for 25 years. She was a volunteer firefighter in Kendall for 25 years and also took it up on herself to help all the older people in Kendall getting them to Dr. Appointments, Stores, or anything else they needed. Mona really took great pride in living in Kendall and resided there until her passing.
Mona was a lifetime member of the NRA and donated to numerous conservation wildlife and animal rescue groups. Mona enjoyed fishing, doing anything outside especially with her horses, and she really enjoyed spending time with her dog and cats or for all that matters any critters, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by many family and friends.

Step Grandson: Brad Weilert of Garden City, KS
And numerous Nieces and Nephews
Memorial Services will be held on Monday, February 3, 2020 at 10:30 AM (MST) at the Kendall United Methodist Church, in Kendall, KS, followed by a lunch at the Community Building in Kendall.
