Miracles In Front Of You

I am writing this as moisture falls from the sky.  It is welcome moisture but slick roads cause concern for many driving. Already this morning (Wednesday) there have been numerous accidents on local highways. Thankfully, so far, no one has been seriously injured. 
Kids are safe at school and it looks like temperatures will rise above freezing for a while. Hopefully everyone is safe and warm.
Christmas is about ten days away and my outdoor lights still aren't up. 
I am looking forward to the break from school to have more family time . That is the age I am at. I want time. Time with my husband and daughter. I want time to get things organized in my house, time to go on a vacation, time to restore, refresh and catch up. 
My daughter is not at that age yet. Lol. Gifts I ordered are late. My fault. I am just busy. 
But I love her heart. This year she chose to help someone. And it pushed me to do the same. Sometimes it's the little child that leads us. 
Watching community groups help get shoes for those in need, bring presents to those who wouldn't have, maybe our hearts need to be reminded of that. 
Maybe it's the selflessness, the looking past the irritations and frustrations that helps us our hearts warm to each other. 
I know many people who would give anything to have one more Christmas with their loved ones. 
Others need our prayers this season. Some live in abuse and dysfunction. Maybe this winter break means more mouths to feed, higher heating bills, or unsafe homes. 
If you are reading this and are able to help someone, count that as a blessing. 
The other day I felt God stop me and say pray for this person right now.  I thought it was silly. But I did it. 
Later I told the person what happened. They said it came at the perfect time. 
Years ago I was in a restaurant and offered to pay for someone's meal anonymously. I told the waiter just to tell them God loves them. 
The waiter came back with tears in her eyes saying you don't know how much that person needed it. The husband/father had left her with a baby. She had no hope, no money. 
As many are suffering this Christmas with grief, with war, with abuse, let us remember we are His hands and feet. Let us remember if we ask, maybe that still small voice inside of you that we sometimes think is silly, really isn't.
Sometimes we are the miracle someone is looking for.
I have witnessed it first hand as the giver and the receiver. I gave my last dollar to help feed someone. Later I thought that wasn't very smart.  I went to the mail and a good friend felt God say, send her this money. 
Over and over again things we may find silly or illogical are ways God uses us to trust Him and to get out of our comfort zone. 
He told Peter to come to Him on the water, to get out of the boat - to trust. 
So what would you do differently if you  knew He had you in the palm of His hand? 
Maybe there would be more Christmas and less judgment? 
Maybe the miracle is right in front of you.
