Blue Sky Bookkeeping Open For Business

Blue Sky Bookkeeping Services is open for business at 105 N Main Street, Syracuse, Kansas. 
Nicole Salm, a bookkeeper for over 12 years, decided to open a storefront on Main Street in Syracuse. She purchased the building in the middle of March when she and husband, Justin did some extensive renovations to the Hamilton County Farm Bureau building.  
So where did Blue Sky Bookkeeping Services get it's name? 
"I wanted a name that represented Kansas and Blue Sky is also a financial term referring to intangible assets that contribute to the overall value of a business."
While Salm has office hours of  8 AM - 4 PM,  she is out of the office when doing on site work for area businesses and farmers. She can also do remote accounting, so you don't have to live in Syracuse to work with her. 
"I work directly with your accountant to organize and prepare your finances for tax preparation."
Salm is taking on new clients. "I charge by the hour, no minimum. If you only have one hour of work weekly that is what I charge."
Salm explains the benefits of having an outside person work with your financials. "Some people want an outside person to do your payroll, or reconcile your  bank statements. It can help avoid inside fraud.   A key control procedure for your company is to have a secondary or outside person reconcile your bank accounts and credit cards." 
Salm is also familiar with farm, ranch, and dairy accounting, as well as resale companies and service and repair companies. 
Salm notes, "One example is a farmer may not be good at accounting. He spends his time trying to figure this all out and instead of using their valuable time working and bringing in income, they are struggling to figure their accounting software out. I can take that piece off of your hands to help you get back to doing what you are good at."
Services she provides include cash flow and budgeting, quickbooks support, payroll services, month end close out,  general ledger, accounts payables and receivables, and more.
In December Salm will graduate from West Texas A&M with her Bachelors Degree in Accounting. 
Nicole and Justin have three children - Addy, Barron, and Steele. They love to travel and see new places, they like to do remodeling projects, and enjoy their animals. They have dogs, horses, as well as 4-H animals. 
They love doing activities with their kids and supporting their endeavors. 
Salm is also a 4-H community leader for Willing Workers 4-H club.
