Finding your Path

We are nearing the end of April. Showers are in the forecast for the next few days. Rain in southwest Kansas is a beautiful gift to be treasured! 
Life has been crazy, which has become the norm for me. 
Between sheep, work, my daughter’s track meets, and everything in between, I am finding that my meal planning is non existent! 
We spent eight hours Saturday working at the barn cleaning, working with animals, etc. By the time we got home and showered, I was in bed, fast asleep. 
On Easter Sunday, I could have slept the day away. I had a raging headache. I went back and forth of if we should go or not. But how could we not go to church on Easter? 
  I pushed through. After lunch, I laid down and rested. 
Was it the right thing to go to church? It felt right to me. 
One thing I struggle with is being in limbo. I have noticed lately my prayers have been skiddish. God, please don’t let this be too bad or please can I just get a little win here. Meh prayers. 
I had a leak in my office this week. It appeared to come from the ceiling but there was no visible ceiling damage. The leak was a mystery. My landlord was wonderful in helping but it took a bit to find it.  
I had originally prayed that it wouldn’t be too awful. But then I realized it had to get worse to find where the leak was. 
Of course I get philosophical. Doesn’t this apply to our lives as well? Sometimes things have to get worse for us to actually see the damage it is causing. Sometimes it’s the only way to truly fix things. 
No I am not a fan of this course of action. I would prefer to see the problems in my life when they are tiny tiny dots.  
But that’s not how most of us work. Things have to become blatant for us to do something about it. 
God tends to work that way. When I have enough courage, I pray God, I am not that smart. Please make the answer crystal clear to me. 
It’s bold but it works. I have prayed for friends that way too. When we sit in the I am unsure place for too long, answers become murky. The way seems confusing. 
God make my path clear. If I am on the wrong road, stop me. And maybe I need to pray for the courage to do something about it. 
Near the end of the school year is when a lot of people are making decisions to change jobs, homes, etc. 
instead of skirting around the issue, unsure of if this is the right step forward, do we stop to ask God what His plan is? 
Can you be bold enough to say God make it crystal clear which way I should go? God close the doors that are keeping me from being all I can be. God swing open the doors that lead me where I should be. 
  There are several local events going on this weekend. The car show, a new fun run to help with our dog shelter, and livestock shows as well. 
 It is Wednesday morning as I write this and I still am unsure what we are doing this weekend. My husband gives me a list of things we need to get done and my response is, “One day at a time.” 
  In just a few weeks, school will be out. I lie to myself every year saying, it will slow down. It won’t. But this is the good stuff. This is the life I prayed for. 
  Many years ago, I wrote down on a sheet of paper what I dreamed of having. I asked God for all of it, if it was His will. I didn’t want anything that wouldn’t be for my good. I prayed over it and put the list away. 
 As I look back, I got every single thing on the list. I probably should have added eight hours of sleep a night. LOL.
 The saying goes April showers bring May flowers. What are you putting into your prayer life today for tomorrow? Are your prayers bold? Are you willing to hear no? 
 Are you willing to put in the work required to get you there? 
   My daughter has me listening to a worship song, “Waymaker.” by Sinach. One of the lyrics says - "You are here. Turning lives around. I worship you... Way maker
Miracle worker, Promise keeper, Light in the darkness
My God. That is who you are”
 I find myself repeating those lyrics over and over again in my head as a mantra. I realize worry or worship is a thing for me. Which am I going to focus on? 
So I ask you - Are you filling your head with worry or bold prayers? Where is your focus? Yes, a lot of bad can happen. But so can a lot of good!
