Connecting

Happy Spring! Happy warm temperatures. Happy sunshine without extreme wind days! It is supposed to be 88 degrees today and tomorrow. Doesn’t that sun feel good? And how wild that a week ago there was still snow on the ground. 
It may sound crazy but I appreciate the tougher days because it helps me enjoy the nicer days too.  I may get some hate but 88 might be a little warm without a pool or a beach nearby. 
But on Tuesday as the sun shone and I was in the office I felt like Oh from the movie Home. I could hear him clear as day saying, “Can I come into the out now?” And the girl responded, “No you can not come into the out now!” Lol! 
Time seems so precious doesn’t it? Time and health. It seems there is never enough of either! 
I love a long summer day. Getting lots of vitamin D to strengthen my body.  
When I ask people what they like about my column, it is that they like to know what is going on in my life. Well lately it is loving, feeding, and teaching the lambs how to walk with a halter. It is also getting ready for track meets. 
After talking to several parents, the list of things I need to bring tells me I am not yet prepared - water, electrolytes, blanket, lawn chairs, etc. Another season of learning.
How are things in your world? Certainly these warm temperatures have you making plans for summer, right? 
Vacation? Swimming pool? Reading? Naps? Livestock shows? Rodeos? County fair?
But I am getting ahead of myself. Easter is coming in a few weeks - four Sundays from now to be exact.
  I admit it has been a couple Sundays since I was at church. Years ago that was my only connection to God. I did anything I could to get there, to have a quiet moment and recharge. While I still do that and get so much from fellowship and our pastor, I also have other outlets too. I wake and read a daily Bible verse. I tell Him thank you when I am happy about something. I pray over family and friends. I try to stay connected. 
I am truly grateful that during these busier times in my life I still feel close to Him. I still talk to Him a lot, listen as much as I can, and try to meditate on His word. Sometimes that comes from singing in the pickup while I am driving. 
Do you look for ways to draw closer to Him? In the bad days or the bad moments I can ask God why? But I have noticed in the what if worrying moments, I start to gravitate back to Him. Lead me God, let me not go astray, and you’ve got this. Less me, more Him. 
Church means so much to me. But if I can’t get there, I still have sources to connect - music, videos, my bible, books, a walk in nature. 

Brandon Lake’s Gratitude comes to mind as he sings,

“… So I throw up my hands
And praise You again and again
