Dreams

  It’s Wednesday morning at 10:00 AM as I begin to write this. My deadline is 10:00 AM. UGH. 
 My schedule is as crazy as ever. And with July 4th next Thursday, I need to get the next paper going pretty quickly as soon as this one goes to print. 
  Wheat harvest is continuing with a bit of anxiety as showers and thunderstorms are possible the next few nights. With a few weeks to the county fair, there is a lot of project work going on as well as behind the scenes. 
  My book launch party will be online July 7th. There will be more details of local book signings as well soon.
  And then there is keeping our sheep cool in the triple digit temperatures as well as getting my daughter to practices and scrimmages. 
 We are go, go, go right now. 
But I am still managing to carve out several morning walks a week with my dogs and my friend.
 Needless to say some things have gone to the back burner. 
 I am as surprised as you that my family and livestock are my priorities. Thirty years ago I never would have seen that coming.
 Some parts of life are beautiful surprises. There are joys unimaginable if you look back and think about what you have created in your life. 
 Some of the hardest times in my life gave me the strength to fight for the good. 
  I smile that I once was a city girl. I went to tons of rock concerts, museums, and clubs. 
 I have never been so happy to sit out with my family at the sheep barn and watch a sunset. 
  I like driving and watching combines cutting wheat. I love this chapter of my life. 
 Yes it is crazy and hectic but it is filled with many good things. 
 I was thinking about how this year elementary school activities won’t involve us as a family. It made me sad. I have such warm memories of that chapter of our life.
 But now it is time to move forward with new memories. 
I like that life moves forward, changing, and we are changing too.
 Yes there are massive fears of the world today, when my child will start driving, etc. 
  I want to dwell on the good.  I want to believe the best. 
I think we get there by taking care of ourselves as we are taking care of our families. So here is me doing something for myself - pursuing my dream.
